St Mary’s Bell-ringers

Over the last few weeks our bell-ringers have had the pleasure of being visited by a Spanish journalist, Cristobal Ramirez, who was staying in the area.  A copy of his article can be downloaded here (please excuse the poor English which can only be blamed on the automatic web translation)!

Remembering the start of WW1

This Sunday 3rd August at St Mary’s we will be remembering the start of WW1  :

From 4pm there will be an exhibition of memorabilia and images from WW1 – if you or any of your friends have any suitable pictures or items from WW1 please bring them along to add to the exhibition.
At 6pm there will be reflections, songs and poems, including a short act of commemoration.

Starting from 1st August 2014, St Mary’s Buckden will be in an interregnum (or vacancy).  This means that we do not currently have a vicar or priest in charge.  The selection process for a new priest will take some months to complete.  In the meantime, Sunday Services and Wednesday Communion will continue as normal with the help of our team of retired clergy and licensed lay ministers.  Bookings for baptisms, weddings and funerals are still being taken – please contact the churchwardens in the first instance.

If you want to know about the process of the interregnum, there is an information sheet which is displayed in church or can be downloaded here

Thank you for your help, your prayers and your patience during this time.
