“Wildlife Artwatch” weekend is here

‘Wildlife ArtWatch’ Weekend  18th-19th October 2014

An exhibition of paintings and sculpture by members of The Society of Wildlife Artists, all of which will be available to purchase.
Opening Times:
Saturday 18th 10-30am to 5pm
Sunday 19th    1pm to 5pm.

Saturday 18th October at 7-00pm “The Birds and the Butterflies”
                                   a very special wildlife evening
Renowned artist Peter Partington (recently seen on BBC TV’s ‘Springwatch Unsprung’) will give a talk on Birds and will draw them ‘live’, and expert Nick Greatorex-Davies will give an illustrated talk on British Butterflies. Tickets £8 (including a complimentary glass of wine) from Fiona Bailey 01480-431037.

‘Local Quintet comes to St Mary’s Buckden’

Concert by the Phoenix Players of St Ives
Saturday September 27th at 7-30pm.

St Mary’s Church is proud to present the penultimate music concert in the 2014 season…..
The Phoenix Players of St Ives are a quintet who play in a number of local orchestras and meet regularly at The Free Church of St Ives…..we are fortunate that all members are available on the 27th to perform for us works by Stanford, Romberg and Meyerbeer, and also the complete Clarinet Quintet by Weber.
The concert starts at 7-30pm and tickets are £10 (£8 concessions) which includes a complimentary glass of wine during the interval. For tickets please call : 01480-812777 or 01480-431037.

Churchyard Tidy – Heritage Weekend – Ride & Stride

Saturday 13th September there is a Churchyard Tidy at St Mary’s 10.00am – 12.30pm. Please come along and help. All are welcome.  Please bring your own tools.

It is also Heritage Weekend and the Cambridgeshire Historic Churches Trust Ride & Stride event.  We do not have any guided tours going on this year.  However, St Mary’s will be open during the day and there are guidebooks available. As always, visitors are very welcome.
