Monthly Archives: January 2017

So what was that scaffolding all about?

For a few months (Sept – Dec 2016) we had scaffolding on the outside of the chancel and the organ was under wraps but still playable.  It was all cleared away in time for Christmas.  Repairs to the chancel and north transept (organ chamber) roofs are now complete.  Thanks to everyone involved in these projects, those who supported us in prayer and those who patiently put up with the disruption.  Here are a few photos of the roof before, during and after.

Our Charitable Giving in 2016

This week the PCC reviewed the amount that we have donated to various charities during 2016.  The total of £5,402.28  is fantastic – thank you to everyone involved!  And this total does not include the Children’s Society boxes that so many of you have in your homes.

JamClub – children’s activity afternoon

Calling all preschool /primary aged children and their parents. St Mary’s Stepping Stones has merged with JAMclub Offord. Lots of fun on the 3rd Sunday of every month. Come and join us on Sunday 15th January 4pm (til 5pm) in Offord Village Hall. This “messy church” type monthly group is for all children under 7 (pre-school children must be accompanied by their parents).
