Restoration Appeal and Major Projects
Work on the roof is now complete but we are unable to progress any of the other major projects until we have raised substantial funds. Pray that our grant applications will be successful and that people will feel moved to support our beautiful Parish Church.
Our chosen Charity for May-June is Godmanchester Food Bank http://godmanchester.foodbank.org.uk/
The Trussell Trust foodbank network works in partnership with local churches and organisations to bring foodbanks to communities across the UK. There are now over 400 foodbanks in the network. St Mary’s have been a collection point for Godmanchester Foodbank for several years. There is a food collection box near the font for our offerings each week and we also pass donations of dried and tinned food from the schoolchildren at harvest festival each year. See the charities page
on this website (under finance), the weekly pewsheet and the charities noticeboard at the back of church for more information.
May 25th – June 4th 2017
Thy Kingdom Come
is the Archbishops’ call to all churches to pray for our nation, community and world. Join the global wave of prayer:-
- Leave a card on the “Prayer Net” in the church porch at St Mary’s.
- Collect a prayer booklet from St Mary’s or download a copy here Thy Kingdom Come 2017
- Visit www.thykingdomcome.global and pledge to pray using the short form on the home page. You will then receive emails each day with video reflections & prayers.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by the terrible attack in Manchester last night. St Mary’s is, of course, open today as usual for private prayer and reflection. Between 1.15pm and 2.15pm there will be the opportunity to light a candle in memory of those who were killed and injured last night. Jes and Ann will be there to lead prayers and to chat with any who would find that helpful.
