So, its Monday and week 2 of Lockdown, and by all accounts, it won’t be over any time soon. I hope that time isn’t dragging too heavily, we need to be patient.
Patience, it is said, is a virtue, and the Bible talks about patience/self control as one of the gifts of God, and one which reflect his character.
One of Jesus best know stories is known as the parable of the sower. The sower (God) sows seed (his word, beauty of creation) on four different types of ground, illustrating four different responses. The first three either reject God’s story and invitation or only respond half heartedly. But the fourth hear about and respond to God. And in the words of one translation ‘steadily bring forth fruit with patience’. The sense here, far from whingeing or complaining but that through patient and faithful engagement with each day and its ups and downs that personal growth will happen.
So as we get used to a new way of living, lets be actively and positively patient.
Have a good day everyone.
