Fellowship, learning and growing: small groups at St Mary’s

Church is more than Sunday worship: being part of a small group is
a great way to grow in faith, sharing doubts and asking questions with people we have grown to trust through fellowship and time together.

WEEKLY

Saturday Coffee & Cakes
Every Saturday, 10.45am til noon in the Living Stones Room
Come along to enjoy some company, home made cakes, tea and coffee

Bellringers
St Mary’s bellringers is a small and friendly group who ring before Sunday Morning Services and practice every Monday evening at 8:15pm. Newcomers and beginners are always welcome

Going Deeper
A chance to look again at Sunday’s bible readings in an informal group. Wednesdays 10.30am (Living Stones Room) .

Coffee with Jes
Rev Jes or a member of the ministry team will be in church from 10am till 10:30am each Wednesday (after communion),  and the kettle will be on, so if you want a chat, please drop in.

TWICE MONTHLY

Angel Voices
An informal, all age, gospel choir, Angel Voices leads the music at the 4th Sunday All-age Family Communion service and rehearses on the two Fridays before at 6.45pm in the Living Stones Room.  Contact Chris on 01480 812777

Ground Floor Group
We meet twice monthly on the 2nd & 4th Thursdays from 8pm-10pm, to discuss anything and everything, usually based on a theme. Evenings end with Compline. At present meetings take place at 7 Vineyard Way; everyone welcome. More information from Lorraine Toogood (tel 01480 811352)

Sunday Lunch Group (monthly dates and venues are published individually)
This is a group for those who live alone and would like to share a proper Sunday roast with others – some people take a turn at hosting lunch, others simply come along.   More information from Lorraine Toogood (tel 01480 811352)

Monthly Study Lunch
On the second Monday each month at 12.30pm in Buckden Methodist Schoolroom, we share a simple but delicious soup and bread lunch  followed by reflection and discussion usually based on Christian works of art, scripture, poetry or music – no expertise necessary!  This is an ecumenical group run by Buckden & District Churches Together.

Open Ministry & Mission Meeting
In the Living Stones Room,  on the 4th Sunday of the month at 6pm 

These meetings are an open conversation about ministry and mission at St Mary’s, and everyone is very welcome.   We end with Night Prayer at 7.00pm.

Wednesday Living Stones Cafe
Run by Friends in Deed on the second Wednesday each month from 2.30pm till 4.00pm in the Living Stones Room. 
Tea, coffee, cakes, conversation, fellowship. 

“M & M’s”
M & M’s is a new informal ladies group holding a programme of events on the first Thursday evening of every month.Please sign up on the sheet at the back of church if you would like to come.

Bible Study
We usually work through a book of the bible one chapter at a time, or look at a series such as the miracles of Jesus.  This isn’t a heavy academic bible study, and we try and work out what the Bible is saying to us, in our own situations.
The last Monday of each month, 1.30pm in the Living Stones Room.

Honeycomb
A self-help group for those who live on their own and for whom time hangs heavily at weekends. We offer friendship, mutual support, conversation, tea and biscuits, board games, jigsaw puzzles.

Foundations Groups
An informal and fun way to explore what we believe (or think we might believe)  and why, supporting one another  in our journey of faith.

15+
Meeting one evening a month, a group for teenagers and young adults to enjoy informal discussion, questions (often without answers!) and pizza!
