This Sunday, 28th March, is Palm Sunday and we have our first service back in church at 11am. If you want to come along, please book in advance by emailing David.email@example.com. Social distancing measures are still in place, so please comply, and always wear a mask in church.
If you can’t make it to church this week, the service will also be streamed via YouTube on St Mary’s Buckden.

If you missed the Zoom Carol Singing on the 15th, we still have the Online Carol Service to come on the 22nd plus Christmas Eve Christingle (online) and Midnight Communion (in church) and Chritsmas Day Communion (in church). Instructions for making a Christingle at home will be given during the Christmas Eve Service but are also available below (with a shopping list too!)
Summer is almost over. At the beginning of this month the children return to school and all the regular groups and events at St Mary’s restart. Towards the end of the month we will be celebrating Harvest Festival.

Community Café – in St Mary’s 2.30pm to 4pm Wednesday 11th September.
Our chosen Charity for September and October is Church army https://www.churcharmy.org.uk/ Church army is the Church of England’s very own mission arm for bringing Jesus to the most needy and works in some of the most deprived communities in the UK and Ireland with children, the elderly and everyone in between. Trained Church Army Evangelists are based in parishes and on special projects where the need is greatest. Archbishop Justin Welby says “Church Army exists both to talk to people about Jesus and bring them to faith in Jesus but it also does this extraordinary work of serving the poor and the poorest parts of the country and that speaks to the value of human beings.”
Heritage Open Days this year runs from 13th to 22nd September. St Mary’s will be open to visitors every day but there will be no formal tours .
The Cambridgeshire Historic Churches Ride, Drive & Stride event takes place on Saturday 14th September.

Easter Lilies. St Mary’s will be decorated for Easter with lilies donated by people in memory of loved ones. At the back of church are the lists of those to be remembered and instructions for payment by 7th April.

Concert on Saturday 13th April at 7.30pm
ANNUAL MEETINGS & ELECTIONS (APCM & Election of Churchwardens)
Sunday 14th April 2019 at 12.15am and will be followed by a BRING & SHARE LUNCH. All are welcome to the meetings and the lunch. Those on the church or civic electoral roll may vote in the election of churchwardens. Those on the church electoral roll may vote in the PCC elections. A copy of the 2018-Annual-Report can be viewed here Annual report 2018 VOLUNTEERS PLEASE – on display at the back of church (behind the font) are signup sheets and application forms for the various volunteer roles within St Mary’s. Please consider whether you might be able fulfil any of these roles and chat to Jes or the churchwardens if you would like more information. New Electoral Roll (our list of members). St Mary’s chosen charity for March-April is Combat Stress https://www.combatstress.org.uk/ Combat Stress is the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health. For a century they’ve been helping former servicemen and women deal with issues like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression. Today they provide specialist treatment and support for veterans from every service and conflict to give them hope and a future. Please see the display in church for more information.
